Fashion Houston: Making a Splash on the Style Scene

From Toronto to Dubai to Jakarta, Fashion Weeks are popping up all over the place and one of the latest cities to embrace the glitz and glamour of showcasing designers is Houston. Celebrities and the who’s who of fashion flocked to the Texas metropolis’ third annual Fashion Week to view collections by designers both iconic and up-and-coming.

Opening night on Monday, November 12th featured collections by the Lebanese haute couture designer Georges Chakra, Black Halo, and BCBGMAXAZRIA (one of two Max Azria collections shown, the other being Herve Leger). The sartorial celebration continued through the week with collections by David Peck, Fontini, Bogosse, Patrick & Fabrice Tardieu, Zac Posen, Chloe Dao, Kevan Hall, and Monique Lhuillier for the Thursday night finale. With a line-up so impressive, it’s no wonder that Fashion Houston has become the premier style and cultural event in the state and is quickly becoming a fashion institution powerhouse.
